It's definitely been a while. I'm such a slacker. The weird thing about blogs is you're never sure if anyone is even looking. But that shouldn't stop me from posting, so I'm going to try and improve on that. Here are some recent digital sketches I did. Each one more random than the last, but they were all good fun. Playing with texture and technique... always a good time. :-P Enjoy.

If you haven't already heard, we lost a great on Sunday. Mike Wieringo was a guy with TONS of talent, TONS of imagination and a great sense of humor! If you're a comic book fan you would probably remember him best for his work on his own book Tellos or his run (or runs) on Fantastic Four. He kept the industry fresh, and his stylized, almost children's book style made us all wanna stop drawing impossibly ripped body builder type super heroes and start drawing some wide eyed, smiling characters without over rendering everything. He made it look easy, and if you're an artist you know that simple is anything but easy! We're gonna miss you so much Mike, it's hard to imagine the industry or the world without you.

Making fun of some " cool guy" who walked into my work the other day... he's cool!
Messing with some more inking.
Couple of sketches. The ink ones were silly super quick ones done on a marker test page. They were pretty fun, done straight with ink. Nothing spec
ial but fun.
Here's a lame sketch I did of supes. Started it at Wizard World Philly, finished it at home.
I got some pretty cool news today. My art director sent out an email letting me know that there is now an Artist's Bio page on the "A Game of Thrones" website. While my bio is not up yet, I found some interesting news in the previous post. The illustration I did for the Iron Throne card will be used for their promo card for Gen Con Indy. This is the second card I illustrated that will be used as a Promo Card, and I really am honored! Hope you enjoy it!

So after procrastinating for eva eva, I finally decided to create a blog. Hopefully having this blog will force me to be more productive since I tend to waste time when I should be drawing. So here we go...
Just a couple of random images.
